The Brick
The Brick Saloon, established in 1898, is Washington State’s oldest tavern/saloon! The Brick’s back bar is over 100 years old. It traveled all the way from England. It is unique for its 23-foot running water spittoon that still operates. Not only is The Brick famously old, it was featured in the hit television show Northern Exposure!
People travel from far and wide to vacation in rural central Washington. Nestled in the Eastern foothills of the Cascade Range, the Roslyn area is popular for hiking, camping, off-roading, biking, boating, snowmobiling, and skiing. Locals and visitors flock to The Brick for delicious food, live music, and great drinks!
Nearly every Washingtonian knows of The Brick. I was fortunate to get an introduction from an acquaintance while having lunch down the road in Ellensburg. Our server was thrilled when I gave her a custom-engraved metal tumbler for the owner. She told me, “I collect tumblers, this is awesome!” In the true spirit of small-town generosity, she put me in touch with her friend at The Brick Saloon, noting, “They always have promotional items for sale!” As a fledgling small business owner, this support and encouragement made my day.
